• SD Card Slot: Being different and unique is not always interesting, the absence of SD card slot in iPad series is one of it. The fans are hoping they can insert an SD card in their third G iPad.

Even though it is ranked as the #1 tablet, the Apple loyalist are still standing their feet in queue for the better iPad 3 and do enthusiast search for every updates news in web browsing about the release date, new technology and so on. Right now plenty of rumors had been launched blindly to the public, the most topic being talked is the official iPad 3 Release Date launch and the features.

Update (1st July 2011) : the big Apple is preparing to boost the iPad 2 production in the early second semester of 2011. Several analysts thought that this plan can probably shift away the good news of 2011 iPad 3 release.

Update (2nd June 2011) : referring to the DigiTimes, the end of waiting of iPad 3 production will be planned in sometime in 2012. Fortunately, Steve Jobs’ teams has begun to pick and choose what best components will be installed for iPad 3. Many mass medias told to market that the iPad 3 will be officially released around September 2011. The insiders told that Apple is still running in process with problems and solutions, while the third generation production will be the end of the line.

John Gruber, an Apple analyst, also nodding the head for the information of the September release of iPad 3. He added some sentences in his blog, “Summer feels like a long time away. If my theory is right, they’re not only going to be months behind the iPad 2, but if they slip until late summer, they might bump up against the release of the iPad 3. And they didn’t only announce this with a distant ship date; they did it with no word on pricing.” Totally different with Grubber, the Apple CEO, Steve Jobs told that the 2011 will belong to iPad 2.

Will new iPad with new dock connector and new OS X 6 be released by March 2012 at the earliest? No. Gdeluxe thinks it is unreal. According to reliable Asian source, Apple seems to release new iPad 3 with extra cool display and new OS X 6 in 2012 November at the earliest schedule.
Apple removed word “Mac” from OS name “Mac OS X Lion”. It’s new generation of Mac OS X. New name is “OS X Lion”. Next action : Apple will remove word “i” from “iOS”. Why?
Because: Mac OS X Lion + iOS 5 = OS X 6

We think this OS for new technology gadgets.  Computer + Gadget = new technology from Apple  -> “MacTouch” or “iPad’s” class. This new OS (expl. OS X 6) will work with new gadgets (aka MacTouch)

iOS 5.1 Release Date: What to Expect From iOS 5.1

iOS 5.1 is the next major update to Apple’s latest mobile operating system iOS 5.

iOS 5 was released on October 12, 2011, right before the iPhone 4S arrived. Since then, Apple has released iOS 5.0.1 which was supposed to fix battery life issues, but hasn’t solved them for all users.

If you haven’t upgraded to iOS 5 yet, now is a good time to upgrade. Not only do you get great new features, but it even runs great on the iPhone 3GS.

The next big software update for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch is iOS 5.1. This update is expected to contain a number of bug fixes, another attempt at battery life fixes and most exciting — possible Siri updates to enhance the app.

iOS 5.1 Release Date

iOS 5.1 Release Date

iOS 5.1 was released to Apple developers on November 28th, 2011. This beta has been in the hands of developers for a week now, but Apple has not made an official iOS 5.1 release date announcement.

Because Apple wants to fix the pervading battery issues, we expect that Apple will push the iOS 5.1 release out sooner rather than later. It is very likely that Apple will release iOS 5.1 before the end of December.

If things go well during the testing with developers, we may see iOS 5.1 released as early as next week.

Stay tuned for more iOS 5.1 release details as they are announced.

iOS 5.1 Features

Battery Life

One of the biggest targets for Apple is to fix the elusive iPhone 4S battery issues.

Reports suggest that iOS 5.1 hasn’t fixed the iPhone 4S battery life issues that have been hampering the iPhone 4S for a number of users, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a fix in here for some users.

Or at least Apple’s latest attempt to fix the battery life bug.

New Keyboard in Mail

Another new feature is a slightly redesigned keyboard in the mail. This change is visible in the recipient field of the Mail app, where you now have access to an @ symbol to speed up entering email addresses.

iTunes Match Over 3G

New to iOS 5.1 is the ability to sync and stream your iTunes Match music over 3G. This is a handy feature, but could quickly eat through the data plans of many users, so be sure that you use this feature wisely.

Siri App Control

Siri iconThe most exciting iOS 5.1 feature that has been rumored is the ability to do more with Siri. We have yet to see anything about this in the iOS 5.1 beta, but Apple could be sharing this feature with just a few developers right now.

Reportedly, Siri will soon be able to perform the following actions.

  • Interact with Apps – like to do apps.
  • Turn Bluetooth and WiFi on and off
  • Capture a video or photo

While it would be awesome to see these features in December, Apple may hold off on updating Siri until next year.

What Devices will run iOS 5.1

Like the iOS 5 upgrade, the iOS 5.1 update will work on the following devices.

  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPhone 4
  • iPad
  • iPad 2
  • iPod Touch 3rd and 4th Generation

Even the iPhone 3GS, which is more than two years old, handles this new operating system well.

iOS 5.1 Upgrade

Like the iOS 5.o.1 update that was released on November 10th, we expect to see iOS 5.1 available as a downloadable over the air update.

All you should need to do is connect to WiFi, download the update and wait for it to install. You should make sure you have a backup though.

iOS 5.1 and iPhone 4S Jailbreak

iPhone 4S JailbreakIf you have been following the status of the iPhone 4S Jailbreak, you’ll know that progress has been made, and the iPhone 4S has been jailbroken.

Unfortunately, the iPhone 4S jailbreak is not available to the general public yet. We recommended staying away from iOS 5.0.1 if you want to jailbreak, because it may patch holes that iPhone hackers use to jailbreak your iPhone.

There is no official word from the iPhone Dev Team or the Chronic Dev Team, but if you do want to jailbreak your iPhone 4S, you may want to pass on the iOS 5.1 update.

Waiting shouldn’t be that hard to do, unless the Siri integration is really available.

Can’t wait to have it!!!

Apple is finally adding the iPhone 4S on the website.

The new iPhone shall be available on October 14th.

This iPhone release reminds me of the release of iPhone 3GS when people was waiting for a big release by Apple, and they were shocked at the end.

One Final word for the people who saw the Event yesterday, We Really Miss you Steve Jobs. Nobody can replace your presence on the stage.

Let’s Talk iPhone

Apple looks set next week to unveil its much-awaited new iPhone, which analysts say will have a bigger screen and work better with remote computing services.

Apple invited media to a "special event" called "Let’s talk iPhone" on October 4 at its Cupertino, California headquarters, an unusual location for a company that typically introduces major products at larger venues in San Francisco.

The invitation did not have any other details, and an Apple spokesman would not provide further information.

"This is the iPhone 5," ThinkEquity analyst Mark McKechnie said of the event.

The new iPhone would be the first major product launch under Tim Cook, who took over full-time as chief executive after co-founder Steve Jobs resigned last month.

It was unclear if Jobs, who is now chairman, will take the stage at the event.

Though a good product, the current iPhone 4 could use some improvements, McKechnie said. "We talked about it having a bigger screen, a dual core processor, and probably integrates pretty well with the iCloud."

The iPhone – introduced in 2007 with the touchscreen template now adopted by its rivals – remains the gold standard in the booming smartphone market.

The new model, which some have dubbed the iPhone 5, will have a bigger touch screen, better antenna and an 8-megapixel camera, one source with knowledge of the matter told Reuters in August.

Hon Hai Precision Industries Co Ltd (2317.TW) and Pegatron Corp (4938.TW) of Taiwan will make the new phone, and have been told to gear up capacity for up to 45 million units in total, the source said.

Apple launched the iPhone 4 in June 2010 in black 16 gigabyte and 32 gigabyte versions, and added white ones in April. The company typically refreshes its iPhone lineup during its developer event in June, but delayed the new model this year.

Apple sold 20.34 million iPhones in the third quarter ended June 25, which analysts say helped it vault past Nokia (NOK1V.HE) and Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) to become the world’s biggest smartphone maker.

Some analysts are expecting another version of the iPhone 4 to be launched along with the next model.

"The new (iPhone) 4 will tackle the prepaid market and the (iPhone) 5 will have the A5 chip that’s in the iPad and be faster, thinner and possibly with a bigger screen," Colin Gillis, analyst with BGC Partners said. He cited possible voice-recognition features as well.

Apple to Release a White iPod Touch with Minor Changes in October

Apple is expected to hold a press conference in the coming weeks to introduce its fall lineup for the iPhone and iPod touch. Most of the rumors have been focused on the next iPhone revision, and there has been very little information about the next-generation iPod touch.

MacRumors has received information indicating that the next iPod touch revision will be a very minor change, with the primary addition being the introduction of a new white model. Only minor changes are expected for the existing hardware, with the addition of an oleophobic coating for the display and a revised ambient light sensor seemingly being the main differences. Otherwise, we expect the models to be nearly identical to the current fourth-generation iPod touch model.

Our information confirms previous reports by Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who had indicated that there would be few, if any, distinguishable changes from last year’s iPod touch model.

White parts for the iPod touch leaked into the supply chain back in July, offering the first suggestion of the imminent introduction of the white iPod touch but with no major case changes. As shown above, these white iPod touch screens could be installed onto the existing fourth-generation iPod touches.

This news would conflict with ambitious reports of 3G-enabled iPod touches this year, and also extinguish speculation that the tapered iPhone 5 case design might actually have represented the fifth-generation iPod touch.

The new models are expected to be announced alongside the iPhone in the first week of October with availability in the middle of the month. The iPod nano is also expected to get a minor revision at the same time.

Other reports have pinpointed dates in the first or second week of October for the actual announcement date. We’ve heard similar whispers, but suspect the date has been a moving target. Finally, we have also heard independently that the Golden Master of iOS 5 is targeted for September 23rd, lining up with the iCloud data reset

Apple’s iPhone 5 Media Event Reportedly Scheduled for October 4

AllThingsD reports that Apple will be holding its highly-anticipated iPhone 5 media event on October 4th.

While Apple could certainly change its plans anytime, sources said that the October 4 date has been selected by the company to showcase the iPhone 5. Sources added that the plan is now to make the new device available for purchase within a few weeks after the announcement.

According to the report, new Apple CEO Tim Cook should play a prominent role in the event in order to assert himself as the new leader of the company, although it will almost certainly be a team presentation with other executives such as Phil Schiller, Scott Forstall, and Eddy Cue leading portions of the event. It is unclear whether Steve Jobs will make an appearance at the event, with the report suggesting that a decision on whether or not he appears would be a last-minute one based on his health.

MacRumors noted yesterday that Apple is expected to also be introducing minor updates to its iPod line, and had pinpointed the first week in October for that introduction, with availability set for the middle of the month. Apple generally issues invitations to its media events about a week ahead of time, so we can expect official notice of the event to appear sometime around early next week.

UpdateThe Loop‘s Jim Dalrymple confirms with a simple “Yep” that October 4th is the date of the event.

Apple Will Launch Next iPhone In October, Not September As Previously Reported

A new report claims that the next-generation iPhone won’t launch in September, as previous reports suggested and instead, will debut in October.

The report comes from John Paczkowski of All Things D who cites a “source familiar with Apple’s plans”. The source states that the next iPhone – whether it is the iPhone 4S and/or 5 – will launch sometime in October instead of September.

Samsung to Launch Gingerbread for Galaxy Tab UK Version coming in few weeks – new user interface and revamped speed

According to recent reports, the UK version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab (7-inch) is set to receive its Android 2.3 update in the near future.  Recombu advises that a a source close to Samsung is claiming that UK version of Galaxy Tab will receive Gingerbread in coming weeks via Kies.

The update will hit unlocked version of Galaxy Tabs then it will hit others i.e. people using Galaxy Tab with contract. O2UK is saying that it will be out in early August, and I think others will also launch it in the same period.

Our readers in UK, soon you will be able to taste Gingerbread on your Galaxy Tab.  However, if you want Honeycomb, then you’d better have a look at Galaxy Tab 10.1 or any other already existing Honeycomb tablet.  We’re very early in the Android tablet game and no company has proven to have a track record as it pertains to update schedules.

Here in the United States, Sprint recently deployed Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) for their Samsung Galaxy Tab, so it makes sense to assume other carries might soon follow suit.

So Kuwait, it seems the update is just near by now. Let’s wait 😉
